Melissa Says: If you just love your lip balms, this may very well be one to add to your list. It's incredibly soft and comfortable, not at all sticky, has a pretty ultra-subtle sheen and has an uplifting but not overpowering scent. It feels more substantial than many simple balms, and lasts a fairly decent amount of time.

If you're a fan of Smith's Rosebud Salve, this is similar in feel but a bit more silky.

Keep in mind that most all shades are only slightly visible when applied; even the more bold ones merely give a slight wash of color. They're obviously more for mild conditioning and appearance than for deeper moisturization, but they serve their purpose. These pots of balm have a more chic feel than plain balm, but are a pretty step between that and gloss.
