Fall Color Product Review: M•A•C Blue Storm Eyeshadows

What They Say: "On Fall's horizon, a storm of hues: stratus blues, overcast greys...a thunderclap of shades so intense, your eye becomes the heart of the storm. Highly-pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well."

Melissa Says: Are you getting the hint that a touch of blue (the new blues, they are WEARABLE!) is very hot for this season? Well, these shadows from M•A•C give you even more pretty options with these pots filled with varied shades of blue, teal, frosty grey, black with blue pearl and blue laced with pretty purple sheen that allow you to choose a shade that follows this trend which looks flattering on you and that you feel comfortable with (I know some of you still resist the blue idea...yes, you there, I see you). They also blend beautifully together and last fairly well, but do crease a bit after several hours.

NY Fashion Week: "Fresh Out of the Water" at Herve Leger by Max Azria

The inspiration for the look at Herve Leger by Max Azria was the girls from the Bond movies. The make-up artist wanted to highlight beautiful skin with honed bones. The focus of the look? A wet eye, which they achieved with MAC gold Pigment. The eye was outlined with MAC Technakohl Eyeliner in Photogravure to give it an additional punch along with a nice coat of MAC Plushlash. To give additional focus to the eyes, the artist used a "chalky" lip. Beyond a simple nude, it was a pale, pale matte pink that had the effect of erasing the lips from the model's face.

The result was a simple, sophisticated look that is pretty and wearable for those with warmer skin tones. If you've got blue undertones, you can still achieve the look, but I would recommend a little more color on the lips to avoid looking frostbitten.
