Melissa Says: You guys know by now that we've tested out a lot of different products here at DeLush. Mascara is one of those things that you can pretty much tell the very first day of use whether or not you're going to really love or hate it. Well, I've been using this one for about three weeks now, and I have to be honest and say that I do love it.

The brush definitely creates length and decent volume with a slight eye-opening effect (curling), and that weird shape at the end of it is great at getting those little corner lashes as well. One application plus a few extra swipes and I'm completely happy with the fullness and emphasis. Coming from a gal who likes to apply two to three coats as a general rule, that is saying a lot.

Seeing a couple of comments on drugstore.com about having problems with clumps sort of threw me off a bit, because I hadn't noticed that (I thought possibly because my tube was so new and none of the product had dried out near the opening, which often is what sticks to the wand when you do have clumps). I did pay attention to that later though, and for me, this creates a very clean but full look, and honestly the only time I notice an extra bit of product on the lashes it was very minimal and easily dabbed off lightly with my fingertip. I don't know...I do have a specific technique for applying mascara (I definitely do the entire length of the lashes and not just tips, and tend to twist the brush slightly as I swipe through the lashes), so maybe that has something to do with why I didn't encounter clumping issues that would deter me from picking that wand up again. I also think there's much greater chance of getting clumps when you try to apply over dried formula, so just do all your coats at once.

I didn't even use the waterproof version, and there were no smudges at all after wearing it all day, even when I was outdoors during a very hot and humid vacation - it stayed on better than my long-wear eyeliner did!

Based on my experience, this did pretty much what they said, and I LIKE it!

Retail Price: $13.99 (at drugstores and superstores)

I must agree. I'm all about volume and I've been using loreal's Voluminous Mascara for years. I was too scared to try anything else. I did try earlier this year, Two Faced Lash Injection. I wasn't impressed and too scared the gigantic brush would poke me in the eyes.
I finally went out of my comfort zone and tried this 3-D mascara and I Love it. I'm sold. My lashes were thick and long and stayed curled. This is my new mascara.

I'm glad it worked for you. :) I bought this last month and rushed him to try it. I haven't touched it since. It was goopy and I had terrible clumping issues I've never had before. I'll try it again tonight using the twisting technique Melissa mentioned and see if it's any better. If not, I'll just stick to my Kiss Me mascara by Blinc.

Oops, I didn't rush him to try it, I rushed HOME to try it. (Too bad, that's not nearly as funny.)

hi everyone (and april specifically) :)

pull it out kind of at an angle so the brush is wiped off a bit right off the bat. then you can dab the little end agains the inside of the tube a bit more if you want to, but be careful not to let the mascara all accumulate there at the opening, but that's where you're going to run into drying right where the brush is supposed to be cleaned as it leaves the tube, and dry mascara built up there will glob onto the brush and onto your lashes. (this is important to remember with all mascara, as is to always twist the cap on until it is completely tight.!)

i think the reason this brush may be giving some people issues with excess is because the tip has that weird little taper. it should be just fine if you do the above, but if you would rather (and again this works for any mascara), just go ahead and stop after you pull the wand out of the tube, dab the tip on a clean tissue, and this will get any excess off the tip.

I love the new 3-D Mascara by Revlon.
I read a couple of complaints about clumping, but it just takes a little patience to learn how to apply. What I like most is that it doesn't build up on my lashes if I don't remove it at night (and I use the waterproof formula). And no matter how many coats I apply, it still looks soft and natural compared to so many other mascaras I have tried. That's saying quite alot for a blackest black color!!!!

hmmm. i'm having the same clumping issues. the mascara comes out so thick on the brush you can't even see the bristles. seriously. when i first pulled the wand out i thought the brush had broken off inside. after i scraped some off some mascara, it went on in chunks. ugh. i'll keep trying.
