What Melissa Says: I tested this product in Lyra - a set of nude shades, though other available color sets include peaches, pinks, bronzes, and lavenders, so almost anyone could potentially find a complimentary set of colors to bring out the best of their complexion here. I have been incredibly pleased with the cheek gel for its very subtle glow (not too much shine or sheen for me - a big plus!) and fairly long wear. It blends beautifully, too. The lip glosses (which both are amazing compliments to the blush) are very moisturizing and give a sheer wash of shiny color. The only thing I wish is that they were more long-lasting. However, this slim compact, which still manages to include a generously-sized mirror and more than sufficient product inside, still is among one of my favorite new products to apply and then easily slip into my purse.

NY Fashion Week: "Fresh Out of the Water" at Herve Leger by Max Azria

The inspiration for the look at Herve Leger by Max Azria was the girls from the Bond movies. The make-up artist wanted to highlight beautiful skin with honed bones. The focus of the look? A wet eye, which they achieved with MAC gold Pigment. The eye was outlined with MAC Technakohl Eyeliner in Photogravure to give it an additional punch along with a nice coat of MAC Plushlash. To give additional focus to the eyes, the artist used a "chalky" lip. Beyond a simple nude, it was a pale, pale matte pink that had the effect of erasing the lips from the model's face.

The result was a simple, sophisticated look that is pretty and wearable for those with warmer skin tones. If you've got blue undertones, you can still achieve the look, but I would recommend a little more color on the lips to avoid looking frostbitten.
