Review: Shiseido Luminizing Color Powder
What They Say: "A remarkably versatile new powder compact that offers untold optical advantages. Each compact contains three different colors that can be used together or separately to achieve specific effects. Add radiance, color and dimension as part of your makeup look, or as a touch up."
Jen's Experience: My experience with this powder started out in the red. It sounds like in the description above that the product is a "compact", which to me implies a case with some powder and a mirror in it and a pouf. Well, to Shiseido, it means only the powder -- the compact and even the pouf must be purchased separately. (And, interestingly, Shiseido doesn't even make a pouf, I had to buy one from Sephora's line. So much for carrying the compact with you to do touch-ups. Who puts a powder brush in their evening bag?)
The powder itself is actually very good. When I put it on, even with the pouf, I can't see where I've applied it, only that that area of my face is no longer greasy, but in a very natural, radiant sort of way. It's effects seem to be long-lasting, too. Now that I've gone through the hassle of getting the compact and the pouf, it may actualy be worth keeping on hand!
Retail Price: $19.00/powder, $6.00/compact, $3.00/pouf

Shiseido The Makeup - Sheer Gloss Lipstick
What They Say: "It is lustrous, semi-translucent and delicate in color, but this lipstick stays put, and gives even color to the entire lips. Made with skin-caring ingredients to make lips supple."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: I know, I've said I like being able to wear more matte lipstick when the weather turns cooler, but I fell absolutely in love with this certain color in Sephora (Honey Tea) and couldn't help myself. (Even if I DO have entirely too many lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip balms to be considered decent.) Actually, there were a few colors I was heavily debating between, as Shiseido's gorgeous color range and finish typically tends to be well-worth the somewhat higher price.
The day I bought this, I went to a party and the topic turned to makeup (hey, I can't help it!) and I showed the girls what I'd gotten that day. They all liked this lipstick's texture and amazing color quality. While it is somewhat sheer, it is still substantial as they claim and stays wonderfully. The pigment is concentrated and true, and it isn't too slick or shiny for those that prefer lipstick over gloss.
Retail Price: $20.00 (at select department stores - click here to find out where you can purchase Shiseido near you)

Shiseido The Makeup Lip Gloss
What They Say: "This ultra-shine gloss illuminates lips with a hint of sheer dazzling color. It gives a look of fresh brilliance when worn alone. Use over lipstick to soften or enhance lip color.
To Use: Using the applicator tip, apply gloss directly over the lips. Can be used alone or in combination with lipstick for a shimmery finish.
New Shades!
(G12) Mango Passion: juicy, fresh, tropical orange
(G13) Red Coral: translucent, brilliant coral
(G14) Pretty Pink: clear pink with luscious sheen"
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: I know this is a bit pricey for a gloss, but it's completely gorgeous, and I am really thrilled with it. It's a grown-up gloss, for when you have the money to splurge. I have Red Coral, one of the new spring shades. It is super-shiny and luscious-looking. My husband said "Hey, your lips look really sexy!" the first time he saw it on. Very sheer, so don't be afraid of the color in the tube. Not too sticky and wears well alone or with lipstick.
Retail Price: $20.00

Shiseido Hydro-Powder Eye Shadow

What They Say: "These eye shadows create a glaze of intense color that shimmers from within. Cool to the touch, a dewy sensation spreads shadow evenly over eyelids to keep color moist and lustrous for a remarkably long time. Individual pots of color look brilliant alone or in combination."
Melissa's DeLush Downlow: This was my very first Shiseido product, if you can believe it. I have been thoroughly impressed. Liquid-type shadows almost ALWAYS crease, no matter what they say. This one, however, stayed put during the day and looked very pretty. This product is a very new addition to their collection. I got the Spring Plum shade, but had an extremely hard time deciding which shade to get, because I loved each one of them at the counter. The Whitelights looked very pretty over the salesgirl's shadow, adding a light touch of tasteful shimmer. I love the instant cooling effect, and its very fine texture changes quickly to a smooth powdery finish immediately.
User Tips: Control the intensity of the color by applying layers. This shadow can be as subtle or as dramatic as you wish, and can also be worn alone or as an accent over your powder shadow.
