Just for Redheads Dream Eye Flavors
What They Say: "The secret of captivation revealed to every redhead desiring super-luminous, breathtaking eyes. Three breakthrough crème shades that are creaseless, waterproof, and won't budge or disappear."Jamie's Thoughts: I have to be honest with you on this one. This eyeshadow is awesome. It doesn't budge, it doesn't look trashy when you layer it heavily, heck - it even comes off easily with makeup remover. I cannot recommend this enough, and as a redhead, I'm confident in saying that ANYONE could wear these earthy shades.
I tested soufflé, a slightly metallic brown with just a hint of gold. Not only did it make a super sexy smoky eye (I only do smoky eyes in brown, I'm too pale for all that charcoal), but it looked lovely in the light of day - one layer was enough to add a light, discreet shimmer to my lids, more than appropriate for the workplace (and it stays in place all day).
And, there's more! It functions much like a smudge pot by you-know-who, if you get a wet, angled brush and use it as eyeliner. I heartily recommend this to all pale gals out there (ginger hair, or not) and also advocate this line of shadows to any other curious parties. You will not be disappointed.

Review: Just For Redheads Studio Mascara In Ginger Brown
What They Say: "JFR Studio Mascara also offers infinite shading possibilities. Many JFR customers use two shades to fine tune the exact look they need for certain occasions. For a more detailed look, apply a lighter shade on the base of the lash, and a darker shade on the tips. Now redheads have more options than anyone else! Selected for 2007 Miss Universe Pageant!
Enriched with Panthenol to condition your lashes every time you apply, and Vitamin E to add suppleness. Maximize coverage with JFR's high def brush. Smudgeproof and water resistant formulation removes with soap and water."
Jamie’s Thoughts: The online testimonials for this product border, as you might expect, on the religious. I was dubious that any product could be a “fantastic,” or “life-changing” as they claim. As it turns out, the product is a happy compromise between the addictive and the indifferent – I personally really like it. The consistency is workable (almost no clumping), and I love the fuller application brush. The range of colors is impressive, and if I needed to create a custom color for myself, I could definitely do it with what they have to offer.
One minor complaint? The formula does indeed remove easily with soap and water…it removes itself right to the undereye area, where it lasts and lasts. (Smudgeproof, my eye! Get it? My eye! Oh, never mind.) You’ll need an eye-friendly makeup remover for this product, but in my opinion, it’s worth it.

Review: Just For Redheads Mascara Ultresse In Ginger Henna
What They Say: "Our high-tech formula is fiber free and will not irritate your sensitive eyes. Natural emollients not only thicken and lengthen, but actually condition and nourish your lashes every time you apply. Apply before your favorite JFR mascara and viola! Thicker, healthier lashes are now yours without irritation."
Jamie’s Thoughts: First off, I have to give a BIG thumbs up to JFR for their fiber-free formula. I don’t have sensitive eyes, but I do find fiberous lengthening mascaras really, really, ridiculously irritating. This particular color did not make much of a visual splash on my complexion (a shade too light, I think), but would be more than enough for someone fairer than myself. The brush is long and substantial, awesome for quick and complete coverage in one swipe, if need be.
Per JFR’s suggestion, I took a couple days to try layering this with another mascara. In the end, it was too much for my eyes to take. My lids felt heavy, and anyways, is this a primer, or a mascara? I don’t know. I think it holds its own as a mascara, but don’t know if the whole combo thing is right for everyone.
Another cool detail of the JFR mascaras (including the studio line) is the clarifying brush on the end of the mascara wand. So, if you’re really detail oriented like I am (also see: extremely particular), then you’ll love having a strong-bristled brush at the ready for those post-mascara final touches.

Review: Just for Redheads Sun Shimmer Brickette Bronzer
What They Say: "Create the perfect redhead sun-kissed glow. JFR's exclusive triple-milled powder creates a bronzer that glides on like the breath of an angel."
Jamie’s Thoughts: This bronzer is fantastic. The extra milling does indeed make it whisper soft upon application, yet the pigmentation is substantial enough to make a big difference. Be careful, bronzer addicts – a little of this will go a surprisingly long way. Another bonus? The combination of colors is laid into the brickette in stripes, so it’s possible to skip over one hue that might be too dark for your complexion (I skipped the golder, more glittery shade a couple times with ease). I would suggest this not only for redheads, but anyone with fair to medium skin.

Review: Just For Redheads Oil Free Matte Foundation
What They Say: "Continuous conditioning with a flawless matte finish. Our super light liquid formula conditions & covers like a dream!
Soft-matte finish in our special non-drying formula. Designed for normal to oily skin.
• Panthenol Enriched * Lecithin * Pro-Vitamin E"
Jamie’s Thoughts: I love the intention of this foundation, but in the end, it seemed to fall short of my high expectations for the JFR brand. Claims of its “super light” formula are certainly justified, which is a good thing considering it’s designed for normal to oily skin. I couldn’t even tell I was wearing anything after awhile. I was slightly disappointed with the coverage – the color was perfect for my skin (something I think this brand does particularly well), but it did almost nothing to visually alleviate my occasional blotchiness. As for their claims of matte finish, I can’t testify either way – in my opinion, the best foundation in the world won’t stand up to a sweltering Chicago summer day. I would suggest this to redheads looking for a good color match, but cannot really recommend it beyond that.
Retail Price: $38.00, but on sale right now for $22.00 or 2/$41.50 (at justforredheads.com)

Reviews: Just for Redheads Mineral Lip Sampler, Advanced Waterproof Eyeliner and Brush a Brow
About the Mineral Lip Sampler: "All Nine New Mineral Volumizing Lipsticks! Designed just for redheads in a convenient, mirrored case with dual applicator for perfect lips. Each shade is available in separate full size tubes."
Jamie’s Thoughts: "Lip products present an intimidating challenge for most redheads. We don’t have much natural color to our lips (at least the majority of us), so buying lip products can be terrifying – I usually find something either (a) too orange, or (b) too red. This palette of 9 lip colors is, like a lot of palette style makeup, simultaneously overwhelming and thrilling. All those options! What’s a girl to do? It took me a week to get the hang of mixing and matching these lippies – most with success, others, not so much. Here are the vital statistics that you’ll need to know:
Texture: Slightly gritty, use a balm first.
Color: Stain-like, apply sparingly – remember, you can always go back for seconds!
Mix & Match-ability: Fantastic – the “mushroom” shade is perfect for muting those brighter colors.
Staying Power: Above-Average
Tool Time: Brush/Sponge combo was difficult to use, and hard to clean
Volumizing: No visible difference here!
Truth be told, I’m not completely sold on this product. It would be great for travel (and any other moment when you can’t drag your entire lip care collection along with you), on the other hand, how important is convenience when it comes at the price of the feel of the product? While the range of colors is impressive, I think I’ll stick with my smoother, more comfortable lippies.

About the Advanced Waterproof Eyeliner: "Unique Expresso shade provides incredibly natural depth. Creating natural definition is a must for redheads. Now with the
JFR Advanced Liquid Waterproof Eye Liner you can have it all. New high definition eye liner brush."
Jamie’s Thoughts: Love the color, love the applicator, love the packaging. I usually find liquid eyeliner intimidating, but this product put me immediately at ease. The brush is easy enough to manipulate – just change the pressure when you apply, and you’ll get whatever you’re looking for, whether it’s a natural outline, or something more dramatic (think Amy Winehouse or Cleopatra).
As for the waterproof claims, those are totally accurate as well. This stuff didn’t budge, baby. Not only did it NOT move when I wet my face, but it also didn’t come off with just soap – I had to rub it off. This eyeliner isn’t going anywhere, which is good, because I plan on continuing to use it! A must-have for the upcoming sweaty summer, and tearful wedding season.
Retail Price: $13.00
About the Brush-a-Brow: "Designed for those with auburn hair. Adds a natural, warm auburn depth to brows. New long-wearing formula."
Jamie’s Thoughts: This product disappointed me immensely. The powder consistency was WAY too hard – when I put the brush to it, it crumbled away in every direction. Not good. Also, the bristles on the applicator brush were very stiff – stiff enough to brush the product through my eyebrow hair(s) and onto my face. The color was appropriate for my skin tone, but totally unpleasant to apply! What a shame.
